The Founding Chapter of AIBHOF recognizes the people who chose to step forward while the vision was still becoming reality—before the institution was fully built, before the doors were opened, and while the foundation was still being laid.
These are the voices, champions, historians, leaders, collaborators, partners, and early believers who understood that Africa's boxing history deserved an institution of its own—and chose to stand with AIBHOF at the beginning.
Their support is not simply part of our story.
It is part of our foundation.
The Founding Chapter will preserve the record of those who helped make the vision possible.
Because history should remember not only what was built—but who believed before the world could see it.
A Founding Chapter Development
Aaron Snowell Joins the Founding Chapter
Among the first to stand with AIBHOF is Aaron Snowell — a Hall of Fame Trainer of Champions whose standing in the sport gives this chapter its weight. An award-winning boxing historian, mentor, and exhibitor, he is the steward of a significant championship collection and of the Jack Johnson Exhibit, and his presence at the beginning anchors the institution to the sport's living record rather than to its retelling.
His boxing journey spans generations. It begins in the formative years spent around Muhammad Ali's legendary Deer Lake training camp, and continues through his association with the championship infrastructure surrounding Don King Productions and Carl King's Monarch Boxing — the rooms where world titles were made.
He has worked with world champions including Mike Tyson, Tim Witherspoon, Julian Jackson, Frankie Randall, Tim Austin, and Ricky Parkey. His mentorship extends into the generations that followed, among them Nate Jones, who later joined Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s training team.
That a figure of this standing chose to commit while the doors were still closed is precisely what the Founding Chapter exists to record.
